BILL LEYSHON
THE PILTON PORTRAITS

Tuesday 2nd September - Saturday 25th October

At his hugely successful exhibition at the Pilton Tithe Barn in May of this year, artist Bill Leyshon was overwhelmed by requests for sketch portraits painted from life and larger-scale portrait commissions. Many of these wonderfully captured local faces, collectively known as "The Pilton Portraits", are exhibited in the theatre foyer together with some of the newer full-length portraits from the barn exhibition.

WINTERBOURNE STUDIO PAINTERS

Tuesday 28th October - Saturday 13th December

The Winterbourne Studio, at Ilton Bridges near Ilminster, was founded by Anne Brude. The artists meet regularly to paint together at the studio or various locations. This exhibition includes work in different media by all the members of the group. It is intriguing to observe the range of colour and vision which Somerset can inspire.

INNER VISIONS 2008

Sunday 7th December 2008 2pm

From a photograph by Andy Rouse

Building on the overwhelming success of Inner Visions 2007, the pair of our most influential, charismatic and successful British photographers have prepared an unmissable event in which they share some of their most personal feelings and thoughts that go into the creative process of image-making both from the point of view of an entire landscape and the creatures that live within it.
Revealing both similarities and differences in their creative approaches, Joe and Andy discuss their beginnings in the photographic world and how both their lives and work has evolved over time to the enviable international reputations they now both hold. An inspirational and unique presentation lasting for an entire afternoon, there is quite simply nothing like it and will be the event of the year for all with an interest in photography in the great outdoors.
